Urinary incontinence

1 in 3 woman suffers from urinary incontinence. It can be either due to bladder neck or bladder muscle (overactive bladder) problem. In some cases it can be both.

 

Stress incontinence is leakage of urine with physical exertion like sneezing, coughing and exercising. It can be treated with pelvic floor exercise and some women requires bladder neck sling surgery (transvaginal or transobturator tape-TVT or TVTO) *pictures

 

Overactive bladder means increased frequency, urgency, urge incontinence and nocturia (urgency in the night). It can be treated with medications, Botox injections and nerve stimulation.
