FAQs

What gynaecology services do you offer?

We have expertise in the management of menstrual problems, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence (leakage), vaginal wall prolapse, menopause, abnormal smears and recurrent miscarriages.

We personally carry out various diagnostic tests like Ultrasonography, Colposcopy, Urodynamic that not only aids in early diagnosis but also expedites the management by reducing referrals to different departments. Our special skills include Hysteroscopic and Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeries like Laparoscopic Hysterectomy, resection of fibroids, transvaginal tape for incontinence and also loop cone biopsy for abnormal smears. In our well women clinic we perform screening tests for cervical, uterine and ovarian cancer by doing smear, scan and blood test. We also provide hormone replacement therapy advice for menopausal problems.

Do you need referral letter prior to appointment?

We prefer GP letter as often contain relevant medical history which helps in the overall management of your medical care however in case of an urgency or some circumstances we do see patients without referral letter. If you do not have GP letter we would prefer you to send us your brief medical history via email which is provided on this website. Most insurance policies require a referral from your GP.

What do I expect during first visit?

Usually your first visit we take detail history, do appropriate examinations and in some cases with prior arrangement we carry out ultrasound, Colposcopy or Urodynamic in the same visit (one stop clinic) whichever is appropriate.

Based on examination and investigation findings management plan will be decided with your involvement.

What do I expect during ultrasound examination?

We perform abdominal and vaginal ultrasound. For abdominal ultrasound full bladder is essential, however most of the time vaginal ultrasound is needed. Vaginal ultrasound is safe, usually not painful, but can be uncomfortable and you do not need full bladder for this ultrasound.

It is a study, which is done in women who have urinary leakage with cough or sneezing. This study is recommended prior to surgical treatment for incontinenece. You will receive detailed information leaflet about this procedure prior to your Urodynamic studies.
